The international logistics community, to which we add our knowledge and practical experience from the private sector, is a relevant player in the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030.
With the objective of knowing our impact on sustainability, with the help of experts in the United Nations Agenda 2030, we have included this area of learning and reflection at the First International Conference of the International Association of AEO, under the motto “Performance and Impact”.
The International Association of Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) Customs and Logistics has collaborated with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) on the Spanish version of the Global Standards for Sustainability Reporting. The Association has been part of the group of reviewers of the Spanish translation of the GRI Standards. The Review Committee was formed by representatives of the following entities: International Association of Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) Customs and Logistics, Chilean National Copper Corporation (CODELCO), Colombian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CECODES), IDEARSE Center for the Responsibility and Sustainability of the Company – University of Anahuac. The committee of reviewers carried out its work between December 2016 and May 2017, based in Barcelona, Bogotá, Mexico DF and Santiago de Chile. The following entities have sponsored the translation of the GRI Standards into Spanish: Inditex (Spain), SODIMAC (Chile), Banco Galicia (Argentina), Colombia Stock Exchange (Colombia), Banorte (Mexico). The new GRI Standards aim to create a common language for companies that present non-financial information that allows them to assess and manage the impact of their activity on the economy, the environment and society. It also helps organizations to report in order to demonstrate their contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals of Agenda 2030.
