On 14 September 2018, Belgian Customs organised an event dedicated to celebrating the 10 Years of the EU Authorised Economic Operator Programme. It brought together representatives from customs, policy making and business communities. In his keynote address, Philip Kermode, Taxud Director, talked about the developments of EU AEO programme and its challenges, synergies with other authorities; Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRA); IT implementation, reform of the existing Import Control System (ICS2), and the AEO trader portal, among other references.
